Keyboard Shortcuts – Cut, Copy, Paste

Here’s your Tech Tip of the Day!

Ctrl-X Cuts the highlighted text or selected item from where it is
Ctrl-C Copies the highlighted text or selected item.
Ctrl-V Pastes the text or object that’s in the clipboard.

Take a look at the keys on your keyboard. They are conveniently arranged next to each other on the bottom row to help you. Cut (X) looks like a pair of scissors cutting. Copy (C) is the first letter in Copy. Paste (V) is like an arrow pointing to where it’s going to go.

Hold the shift key down to highlight what you want, or highlight it with your mouse. Then Cut (or Copy) and Paste away!
